Our goal is to provide our citizens and visitors a complete picture of our city
government.
The City of Port Allen is in the midst of an exciting stage of opportunity.
The
City of Port Allen was incorporated in 1916 and
operates under the Lawrason Act form of government.
The Mayor is elected at large. The elected Mayor is the City's chief administrative
officer and responsible for the daily activities and services of the City.
The Mayor's office includes the Director of Central Services and the Director
of Finance.
There are five City Council members with four members elected in districts
and one member elected at large. The Council writes policies, adopts ordinances
and resolutions, and appoints members to boards and commissions.

The City Council and staff are striving for a balanced community that
provides an excellent standard of living for our citizens. The city
offers many cultural and recreational advantages. Our community supports
such events as the annual BONFEST holiday celebration and Mardi Gras
Parade. The award winning West Baton Rouge Parish Museum complex is
also located here.
I hope you will take a moment to learn more about our great community
through this site. If you have any questions, please contact us at
(225) 346-5670.
Again, welcome to Port Allen.
