ALLEN GREENWAYS PROGRAM
 The
Port Allen Greenways Program development fits into a regional
development framework, a goal of which is to provide for increased
pedestrianization and open space connections linking Port Allen's
commercial district with city and parish institutions, parks,
government centers, and neighborhoods. As an extention of the
Greenways Program, the levee top improvments will link West Baton
Rouge Parish municipalities, unincorporated communities and beyond.
The towns of Brusly and Addis represent two communities, of varying distances
from the Port Allen riverfront, with which to test the viability of a pedestrian
continuous trail / path.
