There are five City Council members with four members elected in districts and one member elected at large.
The Council writes policies, adopts ordinances and resolutions, and ratifies all appointments of members to boards and commissions.
The Port Allen City Council meets in regular session on the second Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, on the 3rd floor of City Hall located at 375 Court Street. Committee meetings are held on first Wednesdays of the month at 5:30 p.m.
